14 Months
Today Ben is 14 months old! Our bathroom scale says he is closing in on 29 pounds, and he can definitely reach things he couldn't before. His favorite words are still "ball" and "throw" but he has added many more, including Grandma, Grandpa, Nana, all done, and down. He pats his hand over his food and says "hot!" We are practicing with a spoon and fork at mealtime (still very preliminary!) and we are told at school he sits at a little table at lunch time and gets his food on a plate. I'm trying to figure out a way to get by to see that, it just sounds so grown up. Ben is starting to really understand us; yesterday in the front yard I asked him if he could bring me a leaf and he did, or I can ask him to put his ball in the basket and he will. He knows what it means to "watch your step" and he can go over the threshold of the house without holding on or falling (some of the time). He runs everywhere with his arms back and his tummy out, and is very curious about anything new. He is just seeming like such a big boy these days!
