Happy Fourth of July! Today Juliet is seven months old. She is our little firecracker!
This month's big event is mobility. Juliet has mastered the scoot! She often gets up on her hands and knees and lunges forward, or she'll drag herself forward with her arms while pushing with one foot. We have even seen her try to pull up to her feet! Slow down, girl!
Juliet is now a very steady sitter. You can set her pretty much anywhere and trust that she won't fall over. She can almost push herself up to a sitting position. I really thought I'd be able to say she can; she's come so close but isn't quite there. Any day now!
We have thought for quite a while that Juliet is teething, but no teeth so far. I think I can see two little red spots where they are about to break through, but it is hard to tell. Maybe she'll be a late teether like her brother.
Juliet flew on a plane for the first time this month! She was a total trooper, hanging in there even when totally exhausted, and mostly going with the flow of strange naptimes and sometimes late feedings. She turned out to be pretty flexible!
Juliet still sings to us all the time. We aren't hearing any babbling yet (consonant sounds), but it is just a matter of time.
According to our home measurements, Juliet weighs 16.4lbs and is 25 1/4" long. This seems to be about the 20-25th percentile, she is staying consistent! We've put away most of her 6 month clothes and she fits nicely in the 9 month size for now.
Last Thursday Juliet started daycare! Our routine is now to nurse in the morning, two bottles at daycare, and nurse at bedtime. She eats three meals of solids a day between bottles/nursings. She usually naps a total of two hours at daycare, which is less than she does at home but seems to work fine. Bedtime is usually pretty easy, but our little girl still likes attention at night. I give her a pacifier and pat her back usually once a night. Then she's up for the day between 6 and 6:30.
