Utah - Angel's Landing

On Sunday, we did another canyoneering trip, this time outside of Zion. It was just me and Pete and our guide Jefe, and though very different from our Escalante trip, it was also tons of fun. We didn't take any pictures, but I'll be posting some video from the GoPro we had going during a lot of the fun rappels and swims. Yes, swims. The water was very cold!

Before we had to head back to the airport on Monday, we went back into Zion to do the Angel's Landing hike. You should google this hike - it is so awesome! We recorded the whole ascent with the GoPro so we'll see if we can get it edited short enough to share. Maybe you can tell from a couple of the pictures what this hike was like. There weren't very many people at the top when we got there, but there were four very brave chipmunks! They were so cute, and since one went in my backpack trying to get to my apple, I was tempted to bring him home. Once we got back into the valley, we stopped for lunch before the drive back to Las Vegas.

This is a look back up at the trail.
You have to head right up that ridge.

These switchbacks are called Walter's Wiggles.
This gets you to the base of the spine
up to Angel's Landing.

And a clear view of Angel's Landing from the safety of the valley.
