22 Months

Ben is 22 months old! Two short months and there will be a two-year-old in the house. I can't believe it! Ben routinely speaks in sentences, and amazes us with his communication. He says things like "Please, Charlie, can I have that car." (When his cousin was visiting.) And "Lights flashing on that police car!" "DJ chasing the kitties!" He also likes to let us know when something bad has happened by playing the blame game: "DJ did it" is a frequently heard phrase! Silly kid! He loves DJ so much, and often asks "Play with DJ, mommy?"

Ben got a new tooth this month... his first canine. He still is missing his other three canines, and we aren't holding our breath for the two-year molars. He is drooling like a fiend these days, so maybe those other canines are on their way!

We also went to Virginia this month, and had so much fun. Ben traveled so well - his love of Thomas and Mickey Mouse, which we played on the iPad, and his developing ability to communicate made the flight very pleasant. We definitely understand why kids over two need their own ticket, though! Ben was a handful as a lap-traveler.

Ben is very affectionate, telling us he loves us, asking for hugs, and giving great hugs and kisses. He often asks me to "sit here, mommy!" when he is watching a show, patting the couch next to him so he can lean on me. I love it!

another one ___ (instead of just "another")
hold you! (instead of "hold me" when he wants me to pick him up)
