Ten Months

Juliet is ten months old! She seems less and less like a baby everyday.

  • This month tooth number two finally broke through. For almost a month she just had one little fang. That must have felt a little weird to her, wouldn't you think?

  • The biggest milestone of the month was Juliet taking her first steps. She can still only take 4-5 steps but she is getting more confident and will try walking now without someone calling to her. She'll be all over the place before we know it.

  • Juliet has started expressing her opinion very strongly. She is usually a very happy girl, but if Ben takes a toy from her or she doesn't get something she wants, she lets you know she is unhappy! She has also started fussing a lot more when she sees me leave the room. I don't remember Ben ever being so dramatic!

  • Juliet babbles all the time. We wish we could understand her! She does wave and say something that sounds a lot like "hi", close enough that we almost consider it her first word.

  • We don't spoon feed Juliet at all anymore. She was very frustrated whenever we would try to feed her, and she loves to eat anything we give her. She is fully on table food now! Sometimes she even eats more than Ben does. For breakfast this morning she ate some cheerios, half a banana, a whole pancake, and a pile of shredded cheese.

  • Juliet is still an early riser. She is usually up between 5 and 5:45am. I'm hoping when she transitions to one nap in a few months she'll start sleeping in a little longer! She takes two naps, usually around 8:30 and 1pm, for about an hour and a half. The 1pm nap usually matches up with Ben's, which is nice! She still drinks four 8oz bottles everyday, but prefers to hold them herself. She's in bed around 7:15.

  • My unofficial measurements put her at 19.6 lbs and I'll update her length when I measure it. We have pretty much put away all her nine month clothes, and her 12 month clothes don't have a ton of growing room! Most people usually still guess she is 7-8 months old, which is still funny to me after everyone thinking Ben is much older than he is.
