Tennessee - Cumberland Falls and Smoky Mountains

On Monday we said goodbye to the Jacks and headed back to Tennessee!

On our way south, we stopped and explored Cumberland Falls. We walked along the river, watched the waterfall, and then the kids got to pan for gold and gemstones in a trough. They loved this! This stop also started the theory that a day of our trip was not considered successful unless at least five dogs were loved on!

The weather had turned by the time we got to the National Park, ranging from misty to downpour, so we decided to do the scenic drive around Cades Cove. This drive can apparently be bumper to bumper in good weather, but the rain kept folks away and it was so pretty. We saw some deer up close, our first wildlife encounter!
